Cécile Destrempes

At Lanaudière Hospital in Joliette, surrounded by her family, on June 26, 2022 (the day after her 81st birthday), Mrs. Cécile Destrempes Drainville passed away with medical assistance in dying to free herself from her terrible pain following her numerous cancers.

A native of St-Cuthbert, wife of the late Jean-Marie Drainville, daughter of the late Roland Destrempes and the late Marie-Jeanne Frappier, she is survived by her children: Marielle (Jacqui Jourdain), Pierre (Nathalie Gauthier), and Mario (Andrée Dufour); her grandchildren: Stéphanie, Raphaëlle, Pascal, Alexandre, Tommy, and by marriage Annie; her great-grandchildren: Caleb, Ethan, Antoine, Aurélie, Jason, Eléonore, Gabrielle, Zack, Jacob, Alexanne, and by marriage Éva-Rose.

She is also survived by her sisters and brothers: Jacline (Benoît Lambert), the late Pierrette (Denis Masse), Nicole (André Dumontier), Carmen (Dominique Fontaine), Gilles (the late Francine Aubuchon), Thérèse (Gilles Gadoury), Danielle (Roger Plante), and Jean (Sylvie Cuerrier); as well as the living members of her Drainville in-laws: Marguerite, Rita, Cécile, Carmen, and Réal (Diane Rivard); and her godchildren Sylvain, Bernard, and Laurent; as well as her many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The interment will take place at a later date according to her wishes.
